Unboxing Persona is my senior thesis, exploring the complexities of my Chinese-American identity. The project features a Chinese-American-style takeout box, a personalized mahjong set incorporating cultural symbols, and a bilingual zine that blends American and Chinese storytelling traditions. It reflects on questions like, “Am I too American to fit into Asian society?” and “Am I too Asian to be American?”

Informed by interviews with first- and second-generation immigrants, Unboxing Persona examines the cultural fusion experienced by immigrant families. Ultimately, it encourages understanding and embracing the bicultural skills that enrich daily life.
